Install SOLIF
Follow the steps below to get SOLIF running on macOS. Keep this page handy for troubleshooting or uninstalling later.
System requirements
- Minimum macOS: 13 (Ventura)
- Recommended: 14 (Sonoma)
- Apple Silicon: Supported (recommended)
- Intel: Supported
Download and install
- Click Download Beta to get the latest DMG.
- Open the DMG and drag SOLIF into Applications.
- Launch SOLIF and grant the requested permissions.
How to use SOLIF
- Press the global hotkey to start dictation.
- Speak naturally and text will appear at your cursor.
Permissions
SOLIF needs a few system permissions to capture audio and type where your cursor is. You can revoke access anytime in System Settings.
- Microphone (to capture audio).
- Accessibility (to type into other apps).
- Input Monitoring (may be required for global hotkeys).
Troubleshooting
- If the hotkey does not respond, check Input Monitoring permissions.
- If text is not appearing, confirm Accessibility permissions.
- Restart SOLIF after changing permissions.
Uninstall
- Quit SOLIF.
- Move SOLIF from Applications to Trash.
- Remove any remaining settings in ~/Library if needed.
